Mission Consulting LLC was formed in January 2004 with the objective of performing appraisal and related fixed asset maintenance services for our public sector clients.  It is our mission to develop long-term relationships with each client through: exceptional customer service, quality training, and simplicity of customized solution implementation.

Our President, Mr. Christopher Thorin, brings over 18 years of unique expertise in the public sector capital asset management arena and possesses significant past project experience on related engagements.  He has intimate knowledge of capital asset transactions in the K-12 and municipal environments, having managed and assisted on hundreds of similar projects.  His background includes multiple years in field inventory and office valuations of capital assets for financial reporting purposes.  While many firms continue to have high turnover rates of employees and inexperienced field representatives, Mr. Thorin maintains one of the longest tenures in the industry.

Early in his career while at Valuation Resource Management, one of the largest public sector appraisal firms in the U.S., Mr. Thorin was responsible for training and supervision of the information services group, as well as management of the annual valuation service clients.  His responsibilities including developing relationships, production of annual reports to meet GAAP standards, GASB34 compliance, reconciliation, audit assistance and creating a Property Control Manual template to simplify the process for his clients.  The manual outlined procedures and suggestions for properly maintaining fixed assets in a public sector setting.

Mr. Thorin and Mission Consulting LLC have been sub-contracted for their expertise in the fixed asset valuation and reconciliation field by appraisal firms in the U.S.
In addition to valuation and reconciliation work, Mr. Thorin has also worked as part of a development team for three different fixed asset software packages in each of the DOS, Windows and Internet based environments.  He has trained end-users in both one-on-one settings and groups as large as 30, and has also provided both internal and external troubleshooting and technical support for these programs.

When it comes to data conversions, Mr. Thorin has experience creating compatible ASCII file formats for many fixed asset software systems including, but not limited to: Software Unlimited, RDS, CIMS, MUNIS, McAleer, HTE, Pentamation, GFAMS, FACTS, FACTS/plus, and AssetMax.  Mr. Thorin is one of the country’s leading conversion specialists, and has developed many custom report formats and data files.
